Broadband communicator and planner – Kramfors
In Kramfors, a project has been carried out to increase interest and understanding of the importance of fiber-based broadband in rural areas. It is the municipal company Kramfors Mediateknik that is holding the strings, and the reason is that similar investments have shown to provide higher employment, entrepreneurship, and better housing opportunities.
About the project
Mediateknik is a municipally owned company that, through the project, will work for the expansion of fiber broadband in Kramfors municipality and to create an affordable infrastructure. A development of the fiber network makes it easier for people to live and operate in rural areas and is a prerequisite for rural development.
To keep costs down for connection as well as to be able to expand fiber broadband in areas where it is not commercially viable, a cornerstone of the project is that as many as possible connect.
In the project, it is important to disseminate information about the benefits and to engage residents to participate in the work. To kick off the construction of fiber broadband, a mobilization of a local broadband group with residents, entrepreneurs, and associations in Kramfors municipality will be made. This group can in turn spread information and increase interest in the need for fiber-based broadband. The project will work on spreading knowledge through information meetings and informational materials. Mediateknik will also promote the initiative via websites and social media.
The project's goal is to receive 1000 expressions of interest. In the long term, it is seen that the entire municipality benefits from the project as the area's attractiveness increases. The work will be carried out in collaboration with owners, customers, authorities, and neighboring municipalities.
