Social entrepreneurship

Support for ideas that combine business acumen with social benefit. Here, local initiatives can develop operations that create jobs, inclusion, services, and sustainable development in the High Coast's rural areas.

Do you have an idea that can solve a social problem?

Within the initiative Social Entrepreneurship, you can apply for support of up to 100,000 kronor to test and develop ideas based on local needs and with the potential to become long-term sustainable operations.

The support is aimed at associations, companies, networks, and other local initiatives that want to take a first step towards starting or further developing a social enterprise in collaboration.

It can, for example, be about:

  • Creating new job opportunities or increasing inclusion
  • Developing local services or community-beneficial services
  • Testing a business model where social benefit and economy go hand in hand
  • Finding forms for organization, collaboration, or ownership

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Test your idea on a smaller scale
  • Develop your business model
  • Strengthen collaboration with other actors
  • Take the next step towards a sustainable operation

Who can apply for support?
We are addressing actors who want to combine entrepreneurship with social benefit. This can, for example, be:

  • Associations or groups that want to develop operations with a social purpose
  • Cooperatives or initiatives that want to start or develop social enterprises

What is meant by social entrepreneurship?

Social entrepreneurship is about running an operation where:

• A social goal is a central part of the operation
• The operation is intended to be financially self-sustaining over time
• Any profit is reinvested in the operation or in the community

It can, for example, be about:
• Creating jobs for people who are far from the labor market
• Developing local services that are otherwise lacking
• Building collectively owned solutions in the community
