Food & drink – Smak63
In the INTERREG project ”Food & drink along the Nordic green belt,” the focus is on developing new methods for skills development and experience exchange among actors in Västernorrland, Jämtland, and Trøndelag – as well as creating conditions for entrepreneurs for product development and business development.
Food and drink along the Nordic Green Belt
For increased growth within the tourism industry, a certain number of companies with high-quality services and products are needed to make the region a destination for food & drink enthusiasts. A large number of events in sports, outdoor life, and culture are organized in the region, and these are excellent arenas to showcase our fine food and drink as well as our food traditions, which are used on a very small scale today.
Companies within food and food tourism share several challenges, regardless of whether they are in Norway or Sweden. Many are smaller operations with limited resources, time, and opportunities to acquire knowledge and exchange experiences with others, or to attend training sessions, as the distances are great. In this Interreg project, efforts are being made to create optimal conditions for further growth as a taste destination and to leverage the existing expertise within the industry and region.
Goals for the project
- Create a lasting digital knowledge center
- Develop new digital methods for skills development (e.g., Food Hackathons)
- Increase the share of local food at events
- Design a clear communicable common vision and story where entrepreneurs have a shared commitment
- Increase value creation and profitability for producers and experiences
- At least 100 companies have established contacts/collaboration with companies in other geographical areas
