– a preparedness project across municipal borders. Aimed at the public in the municipalities of Örnsköldsvik and Sollefteå and based on a bottom-up perspective where local associations have brought the needs to the municipalities via rural councils.

About the project

”Prepared villages” is aimed at the public in the municipalities of Örnsköldsvik and Sollefteå and is based on a bottom-up perspective where local associations have brought the needs to the municipalities via rural councils.

The project will run for two years and during this time will offer knowledge packages on climate and local preparedness, development of preparedness plans, opportunities for investment funds linked to local needs, and experience exchange to about five rural areas per municipality.

The project will thus contribute to local community development and climate dialogues by increasing the level of knowledge about preparedness, climate adaptation, and green transition, and encourage and create conditions for joint action together with more new target groups. Creating conditions for people with an interest in preparedness and/or climate to gather around these issues also increases social cohesion and thereby enhances place attractiveness and contributes to more new groups being included in the development work.

The project will work based on three work packages focusing on:
• Climate preparedness
• Local energy solutions and food preparedness
• Local preparedness and preparedness plans

The knowledge packages will be implemented at the local level in rural areas that wish to participate in the process. The work process will be documented and can then be utilized by more rural areas that want to implement initiatives in the field.

– Villages can express interest and we will work with the villages that are interested. This also includes developing materials so that they can continue to work on these issues with others who are interested even after the project. Simply developing a concept with knowledge. The focus is on the initiatives in the rural areas and finding ways of working, but above all being able to be out in the rural areas and implement this in several locations.
