It is becoming increasingly clear that more and more people want to live in rural areas, and Leader Höga Kusten is therefore implementing a project to strengthen opportunities and increase attractiveness for living, working, and thriving in Höga Kusten.
About the project
The purpose of the project is to create collaboration and activities around how we as an area can become a more attractive place for more people to live, work, and thrive.
The background of the project is the good opportunities to use the strong brand Höga Kusten for more than ”just” tourism. Through the project, we want to utilize the brand to initiate work that in the long term will lead to a more attractive Höga Kusten for more. The public, private, and non-profit sectors will work together in the project and thereby develop and highlight the opportunities of Höga Kusten.

During the project period
What has the project resulted in?
- Nine local initiatives to increase the area's attractiveness and the opportunity to live, work, and thrive, including: Housing inventory, development of coworking in four locations, and implementation of Nature’s Calling.
- Strengthened collaboration between Höga Kusten's four municipalities, which are now jointly working on talent attraction and relocation under a common brand. The project Talent Attraction for Competence Supply in Höga Kusten was designed to take the next step in this.
- The network Cowork Höga Kusten was started and gathers coworking in the rural areas of Höga Kusten.
- A new company was created, and three companies developed new business branches related to coworking and talent attraction.
- Two full-time positions were developed, which will continue to work with living-working-thriving issues at the Höga Kusten level.
After the project period
What happens now?
In the project, many different activities have been carried out, in collaboration and parallel with each other. Since many organizations have been involved in the implementation, many organizations now also share the responsibility to carry the project's results forward. Leader Höga Kusten will continue to support initiatives for talent attraction and relocation. Destination Job has been granted leader support for a project to work on welcoming new talent and new people to the area. In Ullånger, they continue to work on their vision of a safe housing project, Cowork Höga Kusten continues its collaboration, and we already know that there are more stakeholders who want to start additional coworking in the area.
Destination Job continues to work on a common platform for talent attraction and information about Höga Kusten, in this work, in addition to Leader, all municipalities and Höga Kusten Destination Development are included. Nature’s Calling at the outdoor village will become an annual festival in FriluftsByn, Höga Kusten, where you get the chance to experience incredibly beautiful nature, be inspired, and be invited to Höga Kusten.
