Härnösand countryside 2.0

About the project

The project was carried out over three years and Härnösand's project Countryside 2.0 builds on previous experiences and on what has emerged during workshops with the municipality's rural council and associations in the countryside.

The project is divided into three work areas, one of which is ”Countryside housing”. Among other things, a mapping of existing housing and land for new constructions will be done. The goal is both new residents and generational change. 

Another project area is ”Meeting places and services”. The idea is to develop existing service points such as library services and to improve the digital information about the municipality's activities, attractions, and other services. New meeting places of various kinds will also be developed by, for example, sharing facilities for different activities.

The third area is ”Business development and outdoor life” where the idea is to both establish a new hiking trail and to develop existing trails. The municipality wants to create business opportunities for entrepreneurs and a developed outdoor life for residents. In connection with the trails, the municipality will also work to develop catering and events. The project will also create professional and marketable packages of the new products and/or services that will be created through the business development in the project.
