High Coast Music Innovation Arena
A project to enable more creative music creators to choose to live and thrive in attractive environments in the High Coast, while the world is open for international business.
About the project
The student association Musikmakarna sees a need to further develop the work of positioning the High Coast as one of the country's most important areas for music creation and business within the creative sector. The project will drive the High Coast Music Innovation Arena as a development hub and, through it, contribute long-term to placing the region on the music map for the future. The arena will be a unique and inclusive meeting place – both physical and digital – where the music industry can meet but also connect with other industries, both domestic and global.
Through the project and the High Coast Music Innovation Arena, a large number of events, camps, and collaborations will take place. The project will purchase portable studios to enable music creation and activities throughout the area. Musikmakarna has a tradition of working with, among other things, gender equality in the music industry, which is also reflected in the project's activities and goals. The project will:
- Work for a more equal music industry
- Promote young people and their music creation
- Create new meeting places and forms of collaboration
- Increase engagement for local development
- Contribute to a more dynamic and innovative area
Ulla Sjöström – Music Makers
”We want to create a unique Music Innovation Arena in the High Coast. It should be accessible to all age groups and stakeholders in our area. It should also connect the High Coast with the music industry in Sweden and the world and contribute to new meetings, increased creativity, and more business.
