Work and live in the countryside
Örnsköldsvik municipality wants to find new ways to collaborate. Between the municipality and associations, between companies and rural areas, and also all together in tripartite partnerships.
About the project
The project aims to create a platform that can serve as a common showcase for life in Örnsköldsvik municipality with extra focus on the labor market. A webshop will be developed where people without prior knowledge of the area can access services such as a relocation guide that can convey opportunities from a relocation perspective. A clearer connection will also be created between the offer of rural living environments and career opportunities, and targeted activities will be carried out.
The goal of the project is to:
- Active collaboration between companies and rural areas as well as between Destination Job and the companies in the rural areas. Destination Job is an economic association for employers who want to collaborate across industry boundaries with skills supply.
- An inventory has been conducted regarding the needs of companies in the rural areas and how this connects with the work being done in the rural associations.
- A concept for newcomers to ”shop for their place,” a webshop for newcomers, has been created on the platform Work & Live with a clear rural content. A service that does not exist today.
- Customized and place-specific campaign materials have been developed to package at least 3 rural areas and the needs and opportunities of the companies.
- At least one recruitment campaign linked to the employers in the rural areas will be carried out during the project period, which will then be evaluated.
- Investigated and started the work with relocation guides that support both the rural areas and employers.
- At least two new companies/development ideas will be established in Höga Kusten during the project period due to the project's activities.
- At least 3 companies will use the recruitment materials to work with skills supply in the future.
- At least 50 people have accessed the relocation webshop.
- Companies report that their ability to recruit has improved.
- Companies report that their collaboration with local businesses has improved.
In the end, this project will create and communicate material that meets the companies' needs for relocation and skills, contributing to the rural areas around Örnsköldsvik continuing to develop into more vibrant places.

Collaboration creates benefits
In Örnsköldsvik municipality, there is a need among companies to find competent staff. An important part of this is to highlight the advantages of living in the countryside in Örnsköldsvik. This is exactly what the project Work and Live in the countryside helps with.
Jon Moreus Project Manager
In the project, a platform and a website have been created https://www.jobbaochlev.se/. Here they showcase everything that Örnsköldsvik has to offer. Everything from jobs, leisure to housing and schools. On the platform, there is a webshop where the interested can fill in their preferences regarding housing, jobs, leisure, etc. The webshop then shows (based on the choices made) what different opportunities are available. .
The interested can also get help via relocation guides and other services that the municipality offers.
Project manager Jon Moreus wants to highlight the strength in collaboration. Through the interviews they have conducted in the project, they have gained a clear picture of the common needs, but it is when businesses, the municipality, and associations come together and do something together that it really becomes effective.
