Kayak investment Skuleberget

The High Coast has quickly become one of Sweden's leading outdoor destinations. At Skuleberget, a project is now starting to further increase the outdoor offerings and attract more visitors to the High Coast. In the project, a kayak trail will be created to complement the High Coast Trail.

About the project

The initiator of the project is High Coast Resort, which previously, together with other outdoor entrepreneurs and accommodation providers in the area, launched everything from the hiking festival High Coast Hike to the outdoor festival UTEFEST. The goal of the project is to create new reasons for visits and to improve the entrepreneurial climate for Skuleberget's operators by being able to package new products.

The kayak trail will be created by, among other things, building a kayak center next to the hub for outdoor tourism – Skuleberget. The kayak center will function as an outdoor center with an information cabin. In addition, wind shelters will be placed along various strategic locations.

The goal is to create two rest areas along the kayak trail, which connect to Örnsköldsvik's initiative ”A Archipelago of World Class.” The placement of the two rest areas will be at Veåsand and at the island of Storvalmen or Lillvalmen.

The investment will create new reasons for visits and connect the entrepreneurs who currently operate around Skuleberget. Through the project, all entrepreneurs in the area will have the opportunity to offer experiences in the Archipelago while visitors get to experience the High Coast's archipelago through kayaking. In the long run, the investment will benefit the area's operators such as Naturum, Skulefestivalen, Villa Orrbacken, Jacobs Stugor, FriluftsByn, Docksta Hotel, High Coast Tours, among others. The project will be spread through websites, via the High Coast's official website, and through media.

”The investment will create new reasons for visits and connect the entrepreneurs who currently operate around Skuleberget”
