shorter engagement
Leader Höga Kusten wants to encourage associations to include more in the development of the community with shorter efforts for increased engagement and at the same time create attractive living and visiting environments.
About the project
Strong rural areas are built on engagement; a breadth of engagement and engaged people are needed for new ideas and perspectives to be driven. By inviting and enabling more to participate in the development of the community, the local identity and the attractiveness of the place are strengthened.

Meeting place Docksta Harbor
The purpose of the effort is to gradually increase interest among young people to engage in boating in the area, to expand the number of places for leisure boats at the harbor in Docksta, and to free up spots so that it becomes possible for smaller boats, which young people can moor at the docks. Because we need more young boat owners.

Public bathing area at Nässjön
Byåkers interest association is a newly started association that wants to contribute to creating an attractive living and visiting environment in the area. The purpose of the effort is to develop the bathing area that exists in Byåker, Nässjön. The place has previously been an attractive bathing area for both locals and visitors. The effort is a tool for the association to create increased participation and inclusion of people living in the community. Beach volleyball around the entire Höga Kusten
The project aims to inspire residents, newcomers, and visitors to discover Höga Kusten/Örnsköldsvik's most beautiful natural beaches but also to activate through beach volleyball. The beach volleyball court on the natural beach will be a pleasant meeting place that is perceived as positive, modern, trendy, and easy to engage in.

Construction of Pumptrack track
The association will build a Pumptrack track with support from the General Heritage Fund. With support from the leader, we want to create a pleasant environment around it, with seating and the opportunity to socialize ”outside” the pumptrack.
With a modern pump track, we can reach the group that is not interested in the already existing leisure activities. To have a modern bike path where many, regardless of gender, can have a meaningful occupation and increase the attractiveness for families with children to want to live in the area.

Improvement of outdoor environment in Lugnvik – ”Skatan”
The purpose of the project is to make a previously popular area in Lugnvik attractive for everyone and create a recreational area that is also naturally beautiful with an opened view from the village out towards the bay's water. At the same time, add to restore functioning water and sewage in the building located in the area that is now unused. This can then be used for events at Skatan as well as by those who use the heavily utilized riding paddock. The area is owned by SCA but was leased by the sports association at no cost.

Dinner evenings
We want to organize gatherings in connection with dinner evenings in the community. This should be a meeting place for everyone. We want to arrange dinner evenings linked to themes or cultures where food is prepared and can be eaten at, for example, cost price. We want to create a meeting place where one can come and have the opportunity to participate.

Young Wheels
The purpose of the initiative is to find ways to develop engagement among motorized youth in Höga Kusten. We want to create a regional association with local associations with activities in Sollefteå, Örnsköldsvik, Kramfors, and Härnösand to create community and a safe place for motorized youth in Västernorrland where there should be opportunities to develop, create collaboration, improve the climate, and promote inclusion.
The goal of the initiative is to form a collaboration between motorized youth throughout Höga Kusten together with the business community, associations, and the public sector. We also want to give young people the chance to feel included in society by having the opportunity to influence together and to dare to develop as individuals. We also want to give young people the chance to get an entry into association life and how an association is created and how it is governed.

Nature Trail renovation
The purpose of the initiative is to enable more people to experience a beautiful and varied circular path like the Nature Trail. We started the renovation of the trail in the spring of 2021. What was the highest priority was to clear the trail from underbrush and to place signs and paint trail markings. All of this was completed during 2021, what remains to be arranged before the trail is fully ready is to build rest tables, benches, and boardwalks; there are three rest areas around the trail, one of which is a bit larger with a windbreak and fire pit, and there are also three areas where the ground is so wet that boardwalks are required to get through.

Greater community and increased preparedness
The purpose of the initiative is to build community in the village with the newly moved individuals/families who have moved into the village during the pandemic years, to get more new individuals to engage in the village's development work. The purpose is also to strengthen local preparedness through increased community via the community center as a local gathering place. And to create a more attractive living and visiting environment through increased community in the village. For increased community, we want to develop the bathing area Kvarnbadet, introduce a new activity in the form of a flea market in our unique barn, increase local preparedness/resilience. And increase the attractiveness within the village's tourism industry, among other things, by preparing 2 parking spaces for motorhomes/caravans. And explore the possibilities for a new hiking trail in the village.
