Nature tourism Resele
The Resele region has great but underutilized opportunities within small-scale nature tourism. Under the leadership of Resele Sports Club, entrepreneurs and associations have decided to invest in developing the tourism industry in the Resele and Näsåker regions together. The project aims to contribute to increased employment and increased revenues for local entrepreneurs and to establish new businesses.
About the project
In the project, several packages will be developed where entrepreneurs collaborate to be able to offer excursions and adventures that provide visitors with a unique nature or cultural experience. Experiences such as hunting trips, tracking, amateur archaeology, and survival will be developed.
Resele as a tourist destination will be actively marketed towards Europe. Primarily, the focus is on the German and Dutch markets. In the marketing, there will also be a focus on narrower and more specific target groups such as hunters, people interested in forestry, or archaeology.
A bottleneck for the project and the development of tourism in Resele is the lack of accommodation options. Therefore, the project focuses on developing the idea ”Your Own Campsite,” where one or a couple of families with a camper can enjoy staying by a beautiful lake or with a breathtaking view of the landscape.
Within the project, an inventory of the region's hidden gems will be conducted. Visitors' experiences are enhanced with the help of film, animations, and advanced presentation technology, so that the visitor on their iPad or mobile on-site can see, for example, how the rock carvings were made when Nämforsen flowed directly into the sea thousands of years ago.
