Youth participation part 2

The project will grant support to local sub-projects in order to utilize young people's ideas to create an inclusive and attractive living environment.

About the support

The project aims to utilize young people's ideas and creativity and give them the opportunity to become more involved in the processes of creating their own activities and developing their own role in local development. By collaborating with local associations, allowing young people to implement their own ideas, we want to contribute to improving young people's relationship with the place they live and strengthen the feeling of being part of the local community. Participation and opportunities to influence create a sense of belonging, which in turn fosters engagement and hope for the future. Part of this is also to make young people's engagement visible through social media, which is why we connect with young inspirers who can share their everyday lives. By following young inspirers' engagement in the local areas, pride and attractiveness are created for the localities and the countryside as a whole. This can help attract more people to engage in their countryside, or simply draw them to the place where there is engagement.

Support level: 100% of the costs
Target group: Youth aged 16-25 in the development area of Locally Led Development Höga Kusten.

Härnö Shut Down

Happch and four of her friends in Härnösand wanted to organize a music event for young people in Härnösand. The event took place at Brännaborg on May 27, 2023, and the target group was youth in grade 8 to grade 3 in high school.

Kramfors book circle

Ellinor and her friends wanted to create a free book circle for youth from upper middle school age up to 25 years. The book circle met twice a month for 5 months, from August to December 2023. Every other time, the previous book was concluded with discussions, etc., and then started on a new book.

Disc golf course in Lugnvik

Adam and his friends wanted to set up a disc golf course in an area by the water in Lugnvik called ”Skatan.” To engage the village's youth more and to practice the sport locally. 5 baskets were set up.

ÖMK & Young Wheels Motor Camp

Evin and his friends wanted to organize a motor camp on a folk racing track for motor-interested youth. To, among other things, have the opportunity to try driving folk racing. Youth aged 15-20 from Kramfors and Örnsköldsvik were invited, and the camp was held from August 25-17, 2023.

Fairy tale path Vibyggerå

Minna and her friends wanted to build a fairy tale path to attract children and young people to learn about the old stories from the village. Installations, activity stations outdoors that both visually and in text preserve the tales and legends from the village and keep them for future generations.

Outdoor cinema in Bjästa

The youth at the youth center Hålan wanted to organize free cinema for all young people in the sports life 2023. Two film screenings were held ”Smallfoot” and ”The Lost City” and a total of over 140 people attended.
