Youth participation

The project will grant support to local sub-projects in order to utilize young people's ideas to create an inclusive and attractive living environment.

About the support

The project aims to utilize young people's ideas and creativity and give them the opportunity to become more involved in the processes of creating their own activities and developing their own role in local development. By collaborating with local associations, allowing young people to implement their own ideas, we want to contribute to improving young people's relationship with the place they live and strengthen the feeling of being part of the local community. Participation and opportunities to influence create a sense of belonging, which in turn fosters engagement and hope for the future. Part of this is also to make young people's engagement visible through social media, which is why we connect with young inspirers who can share their everyday lives. By following young inspirers' engagement in the local areas, pride and attractiveness are created for the localities and the countryside as a whole. This can help attract more people to engage in their countryside, or simply draw them to the place where there is engagement.

Summer vibes

Mona and 5 of her friends in Härnösand wanted to organize a festival for young people in Härnösand. They invited associations to present their activities for youth, played music, and held games with children. They also had Tik-Tok dance, dance performances, and karaoke. In the evening, there was a disco with a DJ. The festival was successful, and the group has plans to coordinate new activities.

They also took some lessons with them, e.g., how to make a budget and ideas on how they can reach out to even more next time!

Junis and UNF in Drömme, Nätradalen have access to a small gym, youth room, and hockey rink. Six young people thought that more should have the opportunity to use the facilities available in the area, and for that, they wanted to develop them. In several meetings, they plan how they want to renovate them and what materials would be needed to make the facilities fun as a meeting place for youth. They purchased gym equipment such as a treadmill and also a multi-game table.
