Vårdkasen outdoor, an outdoor life for everyone

The project ”Vårdkasen outdoor, an outdoor life for all” aims to create conditions for more businesses, services, and activities in the area by attracting more visitors, primarily children, families with children, and the elderly.

About the project

The project ”Vårdkasen outdoor, an outdoor life for all” aims to create conditions for more businesses, services, and activities in the area by attracting more visitors, primarily children, families with children, and the elderly.

At Vårdkasen, there is currently a lack of a cohesive infrastructure for activities with clear entrances, signage with information about the area and which places can be visited, as well as quality assurance for trails for hiking and cycling. The project aims to enable a broader target group to cycle at Vårdkasen by creating bike paths with better surfaces so that more can participate in that activity.

An important part of the project is to create opportunities for year-round activities beyond the traditional winter or summer activities that are currently conducted at Vårdkasen.

The project also aims to contribute to expanded activities for youth and families with children at the top of Vårdkasen where a skill park/technical track will be built, which will be a part of the new bike path. Similar to a pump track but located in the forest following the natural topography, a new activity is created that increases the attraction for the entire area. There is also a lack of a natural meeting place where visitors can gather and from which several different activities can start. The project aims to create an accessibility-adapted meeting place at the top of Vårdkasen where there are currently several events held annually in the area. This should be usable by visitors, associations, and businesses.
