Submit an idea sketch

The first step for a complete application for Leader support is to submit an idea sketch and receive feedback from our project coaches.

The idea sketch is the first step!

All projects seeking support from Leader Höga Kusten start with an idea sketch.

Leader projects are based on local needs and ideas developed in collaboration between actors in the area, from several  An idea sketch is a simple and non-binding way to describe such an idea and get early feedback from our project coaches. The purpose is for us to jointly assess whether the idea fits within our strategy and how a potential application can be developed.

When the idea is ready, you can proceed to a complete application for project support in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service.

Steps in the process

Submit an idea sketch
Describe your idea in the form below. The idea should be based on a local need or an opportunity in the area and involve collaboration between several actors from various sectors (business, non-profit, public). Our project coaches will provide feedback on the idea and give guidance on how it can be developed.

Develop the project idea
If the idea aligns with the strategy, you will continue working on your idea with support from a project coach. In this step, you will develop the project plan, deepen collaboration with relevant actors, and prepare content, activities, and budget for a complete application.

Submit a complete application
When the project is ready to seek support, you submit the application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's e-service for project support.

To be processed at a board meeting, the application must be submitted at least one month before the decision meeting.

The board has decision meetings 4–5 times a year. During 2026, the last date to submit the application in the Swedish Board of Agriculture's system is:

March 23
May 3
September 1
November 3

The board decides whether the application should be prioritized and can be awarded project support.

Use the form below to formulate your idea.

How does your idea fit into Leader Höga Kusten's strategy?

All projects that receive support through Leader Höga Kusten should contribute to the goals of our local development strategy.

You do not need to know the strategy in detail to submit an idea sketch.
The idea sketch is meant for us to jointly see:

  • how the idea can be linked to the strategy

  • which goals and intervention areas are relevant

  • how the idea can be developed for a potential application

How much can one apply for?

Leader projects involve some administration. Therefore, we do not recommend that you apply for support for projects that are less than 100,000 kronor.

Support ceiling for projects
The maximum support amount for a leader project is 500,000 kronor. You cannot apply for more than that in leader support. However, the total budget of the project can be larger if you finance the rest with other support or your own funds. The leader support can amount to at most 90% of the project's costs.

If the project is run by a profit-oriented company special rules apply. For project support to companies, the maximum support amount is 300,000 kronor. To start from local needs and collaborate with several actors from multiple sectors also applies when seeking project support for businesses. To be eligible for support, the project must benefit more than just the own company. The support can amount to a maximum of 70 % of the project's costs.

Terms and Selection Criteria

When the Leader Höga Kusten board assesses complete applications, they base their decisions on our conditions and selection criteria.

Selection criteria are used to prioritize between applications and show to what extent a project contributes to the implementation of Leader Höga Kusten's strategy. The criteria are met to varying degrees and are scored accordingly.

To get the best possible start with your idea sketch, we recommend that you take part of the conditions and selection criteria below. It helps you to formulate your idea clearly and see if it fits within the Leader support.
